This LGBT poll is complete bogus. Apparently the EU politicos rely on people reading only the headlines without too much critical thinking.

Hello,
It makes me sad to see that a woman would be so quick to pass judgement on others in this day and age. I fell pregnant unexpectedly in the last year. I am a product of a teen pregnancy and I believe I had a wonderful childhood.

However, being in college with no job, an ailing mother, ailing grandparents, an unemployed parent among other factors I decided to terminate. While I do not know now if I would push other women towards that option I believe it should be open to them. I was careful as could be about contraceptives but unfortunately after three years they left me down. Every day I am sad for what may have been. This is only exacerbated by other women and also citizens of my country condemning the silent thousands that have taken the same journey I have. I am sure those that are pro-life inclined will say I should have kept it.

My standpoint on this is that I believed it was the best decision for all involved at the time. I felt it would be selfish to bring another being into an ill equipped and almost non existant family unit. I love children and always have. I want to have some when I am ready and feel I can provide the emotional and financial stability.

It hurts me and all the other women that have gone through it. It is a decision that I do not believe any of us have taken lightly. On top of these great feelings of grief we do not need the (frequently inaccurate) imagery of aborted foetuses and the angry words of those that do not know what it is like to be in the situation. I always said if I was in the situation I would not terminate but I did. I was frightened and I am young.
In a perfect world this wouldn't even be up for debate. Every baby would be wanted and loved. However, it is not that case and women should be allowed conduct their business in private. It is hard enough as it is without those that do not understand sticking their noses in and trying to dictate the law.
I think anybody offering help to those that need it deserve credit. I don't know where I would be without the free counselling and information I was offered.

12 miles? That's not too far. Besides if you got selected for a place you would then receive a minimum of 208 Euro per week.

I didn't make it to the Tus interview I had last week: I couldn't attend anyway as I no longer drive. I received another letter asking me to attend a rescheduled interview. I'm only on 123 euro per week and live 12 miles from the interview venue but I doubt that would be regarded as a valid reason not to attend.

Well said Miriam Cotton. Kathleen Lynch should be asked what is it like to be a mudguard for James O'Reilly. These entitlements go back to Liam Maguire (subject of my book, Rebel On Wheels) who in 1967 refused to pay Road Tax and was sommoned to court . Road Tax for disabled drivers was scrapped in the next budget and the rest followed in years to come. I am currently thinking of Liam and all he done, along with other disabled activists of his time, with great sadness.

Kathleen Lynch is a self serving careerist politician perfectly suitable to lead this "cruel and pitiless" State in the areas of disability, ageism and equality.
