Oh, Jim.... there are also a few gays in: the teaching profession, in the media, in the tourism and hotel trade.... and shock/ horror ... did you know rent boys are homosexuals too. More seriously, when Poodle and I experienced homophobic abuse from some former neighbours, etc., the Gards (men and women) were most supportive and helpful in our dilemmas. It indicated to me that it is trying to be a modern organisation and be tuned in to the world we live in. I find it completely unsurprising that the force would try to set up some sort of support group for LGB people. I'm not sure on this point, but it may be that the cops are setting up something within the context of a call to have workplace support groups in various settings. For instance, I know in other institutions like universities, groups are being established. BTW, "gay" hasn't been a crime/security issue since 1993... Sad really isn’t it?
