National Library Election Collection 2011

February 17th, 2011 · 1 Comment · Elections, General Election 2011, Irish Politics

The National Library has a long history of collecting election materials from previous general elections and have been in touch with me to announce that for the 2011 election they will be taking a record of webistes which cover the election including candidates, parties and others. I am delighted to have been chosen as one of the 100 sites to be included in the archive, they tell me they will be taking pre and post election images of the site’s contents. So if you are reading this post in 2051 yes we were all very strange back then!

I would be really interested in exhibitions of election materials from campaigns past if the library ever choose to run one and think that many other people would be interested in viewing the ephemera, posters etc also.
