Nessa Childers defects to Labour Party

In August Nessa Childers announced her resignation from Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown County Council. She indicated that her resignation was due to pressure of work in her role as a psychoanalyst. She said that she would remain a member of the Green Party.
Tonight a short six weeks later word reached me that she has joined the Labour Party in Bray. (Story now also in Examiner) She had been mentioned during the summer as a potential candidate for the Green Party in the Dublin Constituency but support from senior figures in the party for Deirdre de Burca saw the previously Wicklow based candidate move to Dublin and win the support of the party at their recent selection convention.
Nessa is a daughter of former president and government minister Erskine Childers. The move south leads to rumours that she is to seek the nomination from the Labour Party to run in the East Constituency in the forthcoming European Elections. I think there might be a few raised eyebrows to that from a Senator or other potential Labour Party Candidates?
