Dermot – PWDI doesn’t have a monopoly in representing people with disabilities. Is it unreasonable to expect that the reps of NCBI, DFI, Inclusion Ireland and Fighting Blindness will advocating for people with disabilities on the ground?

You do the country some service.Congrats.

Was shocked at the make up of the Board of the NDA.
While we are critical of the old NDA Board,I am really shocked and horrified at the current appointment.
Who is there advocating for people with a disability on the ground.To my knowledge I have not met any of the current members on a PWDI Network Committee around Ireland.
Who was consulted or who was asked opinions.
What expertise is there around the multiple issues on disability or elements of this sector.
I despair some times around the lack of consultation with relevancy to the sectors.

I am extremely concerned by the way NDA hand out Awards of Excellence to Local Authorities without taking people with disabilities on board.

Local Auyhorities in Mayo are receiving awards without carrying out works and it needs to be stopped as people with disabilities are getting anoyed about the setup and would need to be consulted on issues that effect them.

Tipster I was rattling them off before heading out for day – I’ll update later – they are established and Principal Officer or Assistant level. I remember when pressure was put on David Joyce to leave the EA being told it was a personal capacity even though a ICTU rep. Fees if any would go to Congress alright – all David Begg’s are supposed to.

Simply “civil servant”? Hmm… what grade, what department and is she an established civil servant or”atypical”???

I doubt David Joyce would be serving in a personal capacity (and any fee associated with the position would go to Congress rather than himself).
