If you look at the press release it really does try but is badly written and chaotic and what it actually ends up doing is illustrating Crowley’s point:

• Mr. Crowley then says “Unemployment, it would appear is now to managed by encouraging migrant workers to leave Ireland� This conclusion is simply not sustainable-Yet the Office fails to elaborate why?

Its amazing how in the press release and in speeches Curran has been making that racist reporting has decreased in 2009 -Whilst failing to admit that the scrapping of the NCCRI could have had an impact or the fears some immigrants would have going to the Gardaí to report such incidents (which may as research has shown could be carried out by Gardaí)

There has been a shift in language and focus in the department over the last year last week in Limerick Curran came down to launch the City and County Integration strategy-A launch that had the glaring omission of Mayor Kiely for such a high profile launch.
In the foreword of the Plan (I don’t expect ministers to read much more) the joint chairs clearly stress the aim of establishing Limerick as ‘a “City of Equality� with the plan promoting a strategic objective “to ensure refugees, asylum seekers and ethnic minorities are welcomed, supported and valued in the community�’

Interestingly the Minister speech whilst welcoming the report made no reference to refugees and asylum seekers but clearly made a direct reference to migrants twelve times in his speech a glaring omission or part of the ‘hidden agenda’?
