		<description>I agree re the Irish system. There is an enormous knowledge deficit in terms of our basic political and parliamentary (and indeed legal) system. I think everyone does civic education for their junior cert now (CSPE or something?) which might plug the gap but some kind of major civic education initiative is vital  if you ask me.</description>
