Jerry Lewis of the telethon fame is not the Jerry Lee Lewis that sings “Great Balls of Fire’. It is confusing, but one is an actor (the one who does the charity) and the other married his 14 year old cousin way back and I don’t believe has done ANY charity work.

Hi,
I am just curious as to how you do the embedded audio file thing. Is there a plugin required or something, or does a particular website offter the service of hosting the file for you
Thanks for diggin this up…. and lets just hope this time that the US Public has the fortitude and where with all to say “Enough” to the past 8 years of republican bull shit
Hello there,
I really enjoy reading your blog. Am considering starting a blog myself and am just wondering how you built your website, or if another site hosts it?
Thank you.
Oh yes, I should add that the reason I’m asking is that I’d prefer my own domain name, and not a blog one.
Hi Anna,
Thanks for getting in touch. I bought my domain name via godaddy.com (generally the cheapest place for .com domain names) and host it with blacknight.ie which is a host company that a lot of Irish bloggers use. Great customer service and they have a package for bloggers. You can buy a .ie name from them or another Irish reseller also.
(I started blogging at a blogger blog and moved over after 2 years to my own domain.)
The software I now use for my blog is wordpress and it’s uploaded to the website (someone else did it for me as I don’t do a lot of tech…)
If you want to know anything else let me know!
Suzy
Just saying hello from Alaska. A friend in Ballycastle sent me a link to your site. I certainly enjoy getting a feel for how folks around the world – especially one of the most beautiful places in the world – see the American election. Unlike Sarah, I actually got off the plane in Belfast and rode the bus to Ballycastle and got to spend a wee bit of time there. Can’t wait to visit again.

A very quick salute from a centre-right blog to a left of centre blog, to say ‘hello, and more power to your organ’.
Read about your blog in the Irish Times mag recently – very interesting. Also intrigued – as a keeper of 3 flocks of organic hens – by the blog’s name. Is there a hen or egg connection? You have seen the picture of the bowl of eggs that was titled “the ultimate feminist production” no doubt. . . My beauties live in nice little wooden houses in a green field fitted out with verandas and solar panels to open and close the popholes. In a fit of feminist solidarity I named the hen-houses after feminists who have influenced me (the houses need to be readily identifiable for advising which needs what attention!) and perhaps it’s indicative of my age that they are titled the Nell House (after Nell McCafferty), Gloria House (a Steinem), Betty House (Friedan died about the time it was set up) and the Germaine House will be getting its veranda on the next rain-free day. Meanwhile a flock of chick have taken up temporary residence in the June House (Levine, of course).
Of course, I do ask myself what possessed me to take on hens just as my human chicks has flown the coop but that’s another day’s story.
Keep clucking!

Hello. A quick note to tell you that I’ve recently discovered your blog and am loving it, well done and thanks! And… you might enjoy popping along to one of my Current Affairs meetups some time? You’d be most welcome. See http://www.meetup.com/Dublin-CurrentAffairs/. Best, Veronica
Sorry for the delay in sending this, frankly I had never heard of your site/blog.
I am pleased I stood out for you at the Ard Fheis. If you are interested in asking me to comment on anything feel free to do so. I suggest it may be more entertaining and informative than one line of comment aimed to amuse. No, I never worked for KPMG. I am a solicitor by profession. I have never been to Stepford! imaginery or otherwise but I worked abroad for long enough to enjoy the trip home. No, I don’t own a track-suit with a hood but I could probably do with getting into a track suit more often – its hard to find the time; that’s my excuse and I am sticking to it. I am at a stage in life where some of us feel that we should give a little back. Some times you just have to accept that there are people out there who mean it when they say it.
Regards and good luck.
Dermot Flanagan,
Just a candidate in the local elections for Tallaght South.
Hello Suzy,
Would it not be better to Tweet under the name ”mamanpoulet” instead of ‘’suzybie”?

PS You shouldn’t worry about locking your tweets either. As a blogger you should be glad that they are out into the stratosphere.
Why don’t you identify yoruself more openly and explain your background and the origin of youe prejudices and shoulder chips?
Eh Dan?
