Dear O2

Your website is absolute rubbish. It has been absolute rubbish for years. 250 free texts a month my arse. It has always been designed to deter people from using it.

The site is frequently down, being upgraded or telling me I am using an old browser. Well I am using Firefox 2.0 and IE7 so go figure.  (Don’t worry techie blogging lads I’m not infringing on your expert territory – god forbid my mammaries would get the better of me!)

Anyway O2 – the site is rubbish, I spend an awful lot of money on calls and a contract each month, I expect a lot better.

You know it only costs a few Euro to register 02dotiesucks.com. Go on tell me to cease and desist – I dare ya!

    Yes, I always found it slow, I was looking at their phones the other days, and give up…so slow.

    Also there seems to be a lot of code in the design and lots of flash, the best easy to use site for me was vodafone, meteors is also easy to use ( if not basic) and 3 mobile have a nice design.

    I completely agree. I never get spam on any other of my emails but with o2 I get nothing but filth. I have on average of 100 spams a day. Does nobody monitor!!

    I am totally satisfied with text messaging! Brilliant. Send mes to USA, Canada, all over hte Europe. Living in Canada now – and using o2 web messaging allot! rarely failes to deliver- so I am saving money on texting from my canadian sim (using Innet option of my irish friend). There is no such an Internet option in Canadian mobile phones providers… so U know, do not complain guys… :-)

    well i think 02 is geat bcaus its only 1c per weekend to another 02 customer.i also like it bcaus its cheaper than the other companies.usually i waste my credit really fast but i hav learnd to save it by web txt.well u can buy some credit 4 calls and send a few urgent messages a day on web txt its anuf to keep me going.Im not selfish…….

    I think its a really good offer actually. It works fine for me and more importantly is free. I had one problem and I rang their cust care who were really helpful reset my account and gave me my fulll quota…..don’t know many other companies in rip off ireland taht give you that sort of treatment!

    Have to say I have no problem with the site or using the free txt on the site.

    Note I am not an O2 employee.

    Also I used the free txt via a command-line script. Which meant I did not need to go online.

    I HAVE 2 SAY I THINK THE WEBTEXTS ARE GREAT. HAVE 2 SAY THO AS A BILL PAYING CUSTOMER WITH 02, I HAVE PAID AN EXTRA 2EURO A MONTH 4 INTENATIONAL CALLS AND TXTS. I HAVE ALSO PAID 2EURO A MONTH 4 UK CALLS N TXTS. THEREFORE TO TXT INTERNATIONALY IT COSTS 25CENT AND 2 RING INTERNATIONALLY ITS 25CENT A MIN,SAME 4 UK! WHILE ITS A GOOD DEAL 4 CALLS, I CAN TXT ON MY PREPAID METEOR PHONE 2 BOTH 4 15CENT! I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT AS A BILL PAYING CUSTOMER WITH BILLS ON AVERAGE OF 180EURO AMONTH, THAT CHARGES WOULD B CHEAPER!WHEN MY CONTRACT IS UP IM CHANGING TO METEOR, THEY ALSO GIVE U 300 WEBTXTS FREE MONTHLY.

    i have been on bill contract for just over 2 and half months and its sickening.i am trying to monitor my calls and texts so i dont have a big bill and the #111* and #101* are shit.they dont tell mye jack shit so my bills are big at the end of the month.sort it or i refuse to paythe bills anymore,its not fair,dont tell me do something and not deliver.sort it,please,i cant afford anymore.

    i agree with the fist fella, its a shite website. i recently bought a phone from their online shop, and had 4 weeks without a pphone because they go the order wrong. its like trying to get in to fort knocks when you try to register, i went back to meteor to hell with them they are crappppppppppppppp. jh

    Just got to agree with the majority of the above comments, the 02 site is worthy of the all time worst web site ever. It is so (often very convieniently for 02) incredibly unreliable. Its slow, seemingly always in need of an upgrade or some bullshit repair or fix.
    I just went on to send my girlfriend some credit and lo and behold that service is down, ‘please try later’.
    Whatever about free text not working or needing to take a day off to try and claim free call credit (its the slowest process in internet history) now I can’t even spend money with the fuckers.
    For such a company, so big and so successful, who sponsor and advertise so much, how does their website suck so bad?!!!

    I work for o2 cust care and i agree the website can be shit sometimes but we also use the website to check things for cust in work so when ye are sitting there abusin us over the website not working remember it is not our fault!!!!!!!!!!!

    For Colm who went on to send his girlfriend credit understandly the website can be annoying when you are trying to top up but there is several ways you can top her up without doin it online!

    Just think of us in cust care! its not easy for us!!!

    may i say ,in favour of 02. 3 years ago i could neither read nor write, until………..
    i discovered the great txt bundle and the terms
    within. 5 of people such as i began to realise the untapped potential of learning to txt properly, to recognise written words and the tone of such, to then txt replies etc.
    i have now bought a Dell Computer to help me to my next stage of adult learning, after all i was 54 when the idea was first tried, now it is tested and please God give us the health to cotinue what educated people seem to take for granted. 02 are ok and i have now signed up for 02 experience. Hope you appreciate the position we were in and where we are now.
    Its our attitude that holds us back, change yours, like i did. and thanks again 02.Mike

    ye i completly agree with every1 above!its an absolute sham!i bought a new phone back in november and the 02 store that i bought it in told me that i wud infact claim more credit if i registered my new phone online. so naturally i took that offer and went home t do so. 6 months later and the website is still telling me that the network is still busy nd i should try again later to claim my 02 credit. such a sham…crap website!

    i think 02 is really crap i am on the 02 friends network which means i get free calls and txts from 02 to 02 but for the last 2 months they have been charging me for all calls and txts i have been ringing them at least 3 times a week and they still cant resolve the problem they just say that it is been looked at and that is as far as it goes they gave me back my credit but i think that it should not go on i am going to change to vodafone when my credit is up

    I am so anoyed with the free text of 250 as for most of the time i cannot get through, and also for my emsil check, as most of my pals are abrod the email is so handy and i find i get so anoyed that i get in the car and go to town to internet cafe.

    ya, o2 is turning out to be real scrap. sad to see a big service like this, in this modern tech world, cannot keep up the standard, and the pace of other communication companies. you’d think with the amount of charges impacted on us, by o2, they would something about it before they lose customers. for those in customer care we know that your empolyers are the money grabbing, hungry sort. no hey, you chose to work for them. not your fault, but be ready to take the abuse.

    i am using o2 mobile broadband with a one year contract. the download speeds are a joke. if i’m lucky i can get one day a week of reasonable coverage. so aggravating

    The o2 site is without question a pile of shite and has been from the start.

    I like their use of few characters/digits though, and set up a short e.mail address on o2.ie and used it as our company e.mail listing it in a golden pages advert, hoping our clients would not have to remember too many digits.

    Fucking wank for sure that business decision. Simple question of trying to log into the o2 site just got worse with their new site – made the whole exercise pointless.

    Ended up logging in once a month, then once a year, the e.mail now hopefully phased out from my clients memories, no doubt jammed up with a shite load of junk mail.

    Why are many large phone related companies wankers?

    It did actually become clear to me in a short space of time, that o2, golden pages and eircom were all wankers in equal measure, maybe eircom more so.

    Actually to be fair to o2, eircom are master wankers of grosse and outlandish proportions, although their website is a doddle to use.

    Eircon as they should be called, are just a bunch of fucking hopeless, useless bastards. I would pay several thousand euros into some giant demolition kitty to knock the company to the ground, including all their buildings, masts, poles, rip out all their wires and sack all their staff, slapping them hard if this was allowed.

    If entering the eircom head quarters was easily done, I would offer a token of my esteem and shit all over their washrooms, in a prelude to some distant future demolition hope, maybe just do a sort of Bobby Sands shit protest in as many of their washrooms, etc, just like they shit all over customers.

    The dirty, dirty bastards.

    I have to agree with the complaints above.
    Today it took several hours to add 12 names to my phone book and link them to groups. I had to log-in after each change – that’s 24 times!
    And this evening I tried to send a short message to 2 groups – and could not get it to work. Type the message (it accepts a letter very 2 seconds – painful), select the group, click “send now”, and get a screen-size message in a post-card window – cannot scroll down to read it. It’s impossible to send the messages.
    Claiming “250 free web texts per month” is false advertising, and I will be contacting the advertising authority tomorrow.
    It truly is the slowest and the worst website I have ever seen.
    I’m upgrading my phone for Christmas.
    Now I know for sure that it will NOT be with O2.

    the o2 website is worse than ever before, some upgrading, it is so slow and everytime I send a text it sends two or three so my group of 21 often ends up as 63!!!I have an expensive contract and my bill is large each month and I’ve had the most pathectic responses to complaints. If only I know how to get out of the contract, however, when it’s up in october I will be thrilled cannot wait to leave the cheating expensive sods. No More contracts my son gets a way better deal for 20euro a month. When they give the good deals for the pay as go the bill pays are screwed!!!!

    grrr i totally agree oh mii god i swear like all i want is the freakin customer care number and you would think they would at least have that!! my phone stops workin every few days and i swaear im thinking of suing o2 they just tell me the same old thing evey time i go in with my phone!!!!

    Just googled O2.ie landed here also the O2 web site is down again for “Maintenance” its half 8 at night!! im so sick of These huge companies ripping there customers off an promising things they cant deliver or have no intention of delivering, am switching back to Vodafone personally they have a much better service which I found was up an running 100 percent of the time, I jus hope no 1 from O2 are actually gaining money from the hits or own this web site because the way they teat there customers I wouldn’t put it past them but defnetly vodafone of meteor for web txts

    Have to agree it is the biggest load of shit and I am actually making change back to meteor. Always down or being repaired, keeps cancelling my browser when I hit the “ok” or “send now” button when texting which is very annoying as I have other tabs open!!! (and yes, my system is fully updated!)

    And what is with the “send now” box slowly jumping down the page so I have to try and catch it with my mouse?? not to mention ALL the other many many glitches.

    Very very annoying, 02, you should be ashamed of yourselves!!! I am honestly a patient person…but my patience has run out!

    Can’t wait to leave this stupid network for good!

    And anon, you put up with shit for a reason, the site is rubbish! There are other ways to get credit, but not being able to get it off your network provider? come on!!

    I have to agree with most comments above, I find 02 is rubbish I cant collect mail. my text were looping, Ireg my credit card with 02 had to de reg because money was removed with out my authority, try to make contact with customer care was told pres button 123456789 and you will be cued.beathhoven and no satisfaction. meteor site
    works a dream. 300 free text. and calls cheaper……….

    To any one reading this message and thinking of getting an 02 modem STOP!! this is the shittyist pice of shit i have every used 2kbs up load and 11 kbs download wtf is that a fucking dial up connection from 1980 is faster i send email after email to the fuckers to ask whats up with it but all i get is the same old shit run a speed test FFS..i do a speed test and what do i get well below average every person i talk to that had this pice so called broadband by 02 say the same thing it fucking sucks!! so please do not buy this modem for your own mental health STOP!!!!!

    The O2 website is awful still. Parts of it are always broken. Mail seems to work for my GF all the time, I never use it. Webtext does work when I want to use it.
    Problems start when I want to check my account. The whole page loads arseways like it was coded by a quadroplegic monkey. If I pick logout I get ‘Page cannot be displayed’. If I close the page and open it again, even though it says ‘Logout’ at the top, none of the pages work at all.
    Its been like this for months.
    Seriously though. Are the webmasters learning HTML from a ‘For Dummies’ book as they go?

    why does the speed test on 02 brodeband vary so much. one test gives a result of 1280 kps , do a seecond one right away its 1543 kps the next is 756 kps. has any one any faith in this test

    Epic O2 incompetence!

    I NEED HELP. After numerous epic fails and broken promises by O2 in generating a printed accurate balance on a now unused account so I can have it closed, O2 finally put a figure of £300 due on my account in an email (so I have evidence), even specifying this as a “one off payment?. I paid the debt within 24 hours. O2 then CLOSED the account as agreed. Case over………not.

    Imagine my jaw dropping when a letter arrives from a debt collector, not O2, saying I owe O2 OVER £1600! O2 obviously think two off payments are the norm.

    I have now gone to the telecommunications industry ombudsman but I’m concerned that the ombudsman website says they don’t accept every case. I fear now that the apparently incompetent O2 have hired a competent company to do their work.

    Anyone got feedback other than “I better cancel my contract with O2 quick smart? ?

    Can only get the free texts to work half the time and being on their website also crashes my computer! Jeez.
