Bludget 2011 – your online wakes

December 6th, 2010 · No Comments · Blogging, Irish Politics, Recession

You’ll find me here later today looking at Budget 2011 from a disability and social welfare/health angle. The Irish Internet’s cup truly doth run over in terms of online coverage. If you are on twitter and following #budget11 you may not be able to keep up with the stream and may need a bit more (ill) considered analysis or humour/escapism etc.

For human rights issues you can join the fine folks at Humanrights.Ie. TheJournal.ie will have a liveblog, budget calculator, and virtual panel. Politico.ie will be continuing their #budgetjam and not to be confused with Politics.ie where a whole lot of different jamming will be going on. Serious economy geeks will be hanging out on at IrishEconomy.ie TASC are also doing a liveblog. The Wheel which provides support and representation for some community voluntary sector groups is promises commentary also.

RTE and the IrishTimes and the Irish Examiner are all in on the party this year with calculators and streams and the case studies promised.

I will be updating on the budget live streams as I get them. I’m getting my tea, jellies and cigs ready as I wrap myself in the blanket.
