The Irish based voters voted 2-1 in favour of Obama. Overall the complete results of the DA primary produced a similar result. 389 voted in the primary including Irish Blog Award nominee Richard Delevan – I suspect more will vote in November?
Have you used a Barackism lately? I don’t talk about change lightly anymore that’s for sure! Slate have given us the Encyclopedia Baracktannica – a list of words that have been obamafied by Slate. Click the widget and find out more about Baracklamation and Obamatose!

As a Hillary supporter, I’m baffled by the rise of Obama and the adherence to the idea that a Washington insider is not appropriate as a President.
In principle, I am worried about the USA electing another leader (like GW Bush) with limited experience, won’t the system just chew him up? Won’t there be another crisis? I also find the American media’s critique of Hillary Clinton to be utterly sexist, how she looks, dresses, how her voice sounds, etc. Its just horrid.
It’s alright Sean. We Obamicans want you to know you’ll still be welcome in the Party – even after South Carolina and Niall O’Dowd’s odious “darkie can’t win” spin. At least Hillary looked last night in Austin – in her last answer – like someone who wasn’t going to go out ugly(uglier?). So there’s that. Though Josh Marshall did point out (last liveblog) that her superb closer was, erm, ‘lifted’ from…Bill in 1992.
There’s an interesting piece to be done on how Obama’s rise has been received on this side of the Atlantic. Actually, I think I’ll write it.
Thanks as always Suzy.
