Lots and lots of things happening at the moment as we finally are in the last week of the campaign.

Children and children’s rights have like so many other issues not been heard in this campaign. Start Strong campaigns for supports for early childhood care and education and have completed an analysis of the parties manifestos.

Barnardos have been running a Stand for Children campaign and manifesto for the past few weeks. Again it has been very hard for them like other organisations to be heard int he din of debates and narrow focus of the campaign.

Pet constituency watch – Paddy Power are refusing to take bets on Bill Tormey winning a seat for Fine Gael in Dublin North West… so says Bill Tormey!

Regina Doherty plays the ‘We won’t have a TD in our Town if you don’t elect me!’ Card.

Claiming Our Future has a petition underway at the moment which will be used during the negotiations for the programme for government which would seek to link funding for political parties to women’s participation.

They also reconvened the Back Lane Parliament last week
