‘I’m an Oireachtas member – hear me out’

March 2nd, 2010 · 7 Comments · Uncategorized

The Houses of the Oireachtas are busy at the moment releasing videos and information leaflets on the work of the Dáil and Seanad, maybe also known as trying to restore faith in our political institutions. They can be viewed here. The one below shows 3 members in their home environments reflecting on life as a TD or Senator.

Not all videos are embeddable but I’m working on that – you have to see the one about passing a bill. Some people really need to learn how it happens – I wonder does it work?

For those who might not want to bother watching, the three are Michael D’Arcy (FF, Wexford), Margaret Conlon (FF, Cavan-Monaghan) and Dominic Hannigan (LAB, Meath East).

Well, the committee has 50% female membership, one of them’s black and all four are under 40.

    Sounds about right.

Thanks Keith – I’ve never heard of any of them and wonder how they have “served the people”????????????????

got to about 45 seconds on the ‘passing a bill’ one and it is clear that they employed the same people as three.ie.
“hi my name is Bill….and I’m here to patronisingly inform you in an amusing way so that you won’t ask more serious questions….”

    Laugh? I nearly voted.
