The trouble with being a blogger who sometimes cooks is that she forgets to take photos of the stuff she cooks in the rush to get it on the table and feed the hungry – so you’ll just have to take my word for it that last night I made Baba Ganoush, Lebanese (no not Lesbian) Chicken, Butterbean Salad, Lamb Kebabs (koftas) – (and Pork ones also!) and a wonderful beetroot salad with a pistachio and mint sauce.
All the recipes can be found in the latest edition of Observer Food Monthly. The shopping for the ingredients was great fun, and I found sumac and flatbread in Moore Street, reacquainted myself with a butcher I used to go to in the early 90′s who did not let me down and found gorgeous fresh herbs and spices around the corner from the apartment in Talbot Street all with a smile and interest in helping me get what I was looking for.
Next time I make such a culinary expedition I will try and take a few photo’s or at least get the guests to do so!

Rachel would be so proud!Ooh pictures on the blog, cool.
Ms Allen? Oh dear… I think I need a holiday… zips suitcase closed on way out door to amsterdam!
Ah, lads there may be no pics, but I have the sensory memory imprinted permanently- and tbh MP you’d have had to move pretty fast to get decent pics because the meal was demolished avariciously by both your guests. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
My profound gratitude MP for the invitation and culinary ecstacy experienced at your table. X
