Michael Lynn’s Greatest Hits
Posted by Maman Poulet on 20 Jan 2008 at 10:00 pm | Tagged as: Michael Lynn
Today I received a CD – it’s priceless (not necessarily for it’s musical prowess) It seems that Michael Lynn, the solicitor with many mortgages and not many banks looking for him, recorded an album in the mid 90’s including about 10 self penned tracks.
But for the first release on Maman Poulet I thought I’d give you something rather special…He once was lost….More later!

Recently I was doing up a list of media law books and I came across a title by one Michael Lynn, entitled Media Law in Ireland. It’s listed in places like Amazon as out of stock but no library on the planet has ever received a copy and no publisher has it on record. (Amazon etc often get ‘forthcoming’ publications as soon as they are assigned an ISBN whether the book exists or not).
So the question is – did he ever finish the book? Or did it get set aside to record an album? Or did other things distract him?

Daithi this could have been written by the other M Lynn???
Well I think there is another one…

Oh, yes, didn’t know there were two of them. So the idea of an album recorded instead of a book is lost. Oh well…apologies to the ‘real’ Lynn, then!
God love the other M Lynn though….

As I understand it, Newstalk were given access to the tapes but were afraid to use em but now that Rick O’Shea has used them and papers have referenced them (without attribution) Newstalk too are playing them. I do wonder though who’ll get the royalties for these songs though? Tha banks? A bank account in Brazil? Newstalk should thank Suzy in the morning and spell out her website address.
