Donie Cassidy wants the national media to monitor the banks

Ah remember last week when leader of the Seanad, Senator Donie Cassidy, was moaning about the whinging media? RTE Radio 1 in particular

Yesterday he was calling on the media to check on the banks on an hourly basis. (Ronan Collins won’t be interrupted so…phew!)

“This is not a time where they can be considering in any way making profits of any shape or form. This is about the survival of the economy of our country, and they must play their part.

“I call on the national media to monitor this on an hourly basis to see who is not playing their part in the banking world,” added Mr Cassidy.

And if the media, say Liveline or Pat Kenny found out that the banks had not passed on the mortgage rate cut were to whine about it? What would the Senator say then?

RTE Radio 1 – allowed to whine when it’s nothing to do with the FF/Green government.

I look forward to his next orders to Montrose and other outlets.
