As will become clearer later in the week I’m heading eastwards for a while in my blog reading. Anyone got good suggestions for blogs regarding the European Union/Commission/Parliament?
I’m aware of the blogging commissioners (no Charlie McCreevy – his would be good for racing tips if it did exist!) but if there are other blogs which I should be reading please leave a link in the comments. They need to be in English – it’s 20 years since I read french on a regular basis unfortunately.
I’ll make a list of the suggestions and other treasures I find on the journey and produce a post on them for future reference.

I have a few recommendations:
I think that Jon Worth does quite a good job but he has, understandably, a UK focus: http://www.jonworth.eu/blog/
He also does a good round up of what’s out there on the EU front in his blogroll on that page.
I would recommend having a look at the cap health check blog – a bit dull perhaps if you’re not into agriculture but a really good campaigning blog on an important issue (with views diametrically opposed to Ireland’s): http://caphealthcheck.eu/
I would also recommend my friend Nicholas who has been blogging for years and heads up a Brussels based NGO on conflict resolution (strongly recommend skipping his Doctor Who entries):http://nhw.livejournal.com/
Berlaymonster has its moments: http://berlaymonster.blogspot.com/
For my money, Margot Wallstrom’s blog is, by some considerable distance, the best of the Commissioner’s blogs.
I can stop any time. If you want more, email me. Also for bars.
You probably know it, but A Fistful of Euros is the best Euroblog I know, even if it is more of a pan-European blog than an EU one. More importantly, its blogroll points in some interesting directions.
