Maman Poulet | Clucking away crookedly through media, politics and life

Garrett Tubridy’s ‘Web’ blog

March 26th, 2009 · 8 Comments · Blogging, Elections, Irish Politics

Garett is running for Fianna Fáil in the forthcoming local election in the constituency of Pembroke/Rathmines.

Can I make it through a post without mentioning his older brother? Well Garrett is far more web savvy than himself it seems – he still says the words ‘web blog’ with difficulty and well probably not appropriately but sure we’ll have video blogs each week between now and June 5th to see him fit into the blogopolis’s youtube continent (!) with ease.

One might say Garrett is following a long line of Fianna Fáil traditions in making sure one name checks parts of the constituency at all given opportunities – aka Charlie ‘Tallaght, Jobstown Killinarden’ O’Connor T.D. So if you live in Ballsbridge, Miltown or Rathmines and you get a knock on the door and it’s Garrett , be sure and say hello and tell him Maman Poulet warned you he was coming!

Good luck to him, but after yesterday antics, it’s even more encumbent on the the country to undergo a process similar to debaathification.

I’ll tell him more than that… But thanks for the warning 🙂

It might be easier to take your post seriously if you could actually spell the guys name correctly! (-:
I think you’ll find it’s Garrett – I’m sure if he was running for Labour, FG or SF you’d think he was a great fella

Ah Leo is that a FF membership card I see in your pocket? I’ve edited the post – and thanks for your comment. If you actually read my blog you’ll see that noone is safe from whatever party — I’m an equal opportunities blogger. E.g Simon Harris Fine Gael Candidate in Greystones. And I never said Garrett was not a great fella but sure don’t let facts get in the way!

So young, so naive, it’s sweet really. I’d like to adopt him, such a pet… But seriously he’s related to Ryan? No matter, FF doesn’t have a prayer for the local elections or any other contest… De-Baathification? I like that term Paul, it would have to extend to gobshites on politics.ie who have been advocating cutting the dole payment level. Ah Leo are ya that daft? Maman Poulet never misses a trick and can smell the soldiers of density at 50 yards!

I can honestly say I’m not a member of any political party. Good to see you treat everyone with equal contempt! Believe it or not, in spite of the fact I’m a pedantic eejit, I thoroughly enjoy your blog (-:

That looks like an original copy of the Proclamation on the wall behind him. Strategically placed; but not the sort of thing any old oik can afford.

Fair play to him giving it a shot. I’d only encourage politicians to use social media.

If we were to ask his brother though, he’d say you can’t trust nothing on the information super-highway, so the question is, “can we trust Garrett?”, Ryan?
