More later on a mad but very successful night, and yes I won and I’m really honoured and chuffed! Well done to Squid @ Limerick Blogger – thrilled to jointly win the category with such an excellent blog.

Hotel wifi is always unreliable, and the fact that there were 400 technoheads trying to use it probably didn’t help either.
congratulations on the win, and thanks for the comments
S, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you tonight. Well done! As a newb to the blogosphere, I was highly impressed with what I saw and who I spoke with tonight and I will definitely stay in touch.
Congratulations on the win!
Many congratulations, hope the head isn’t too bad this morning!!
The awards had two aspects for me – firstly meeting so many great, friendly and welcoming people – the people who make the Irish blogging “community” something to aspire to be a bigger part of, and secondly how inspiring it was – inspiring to see how a small awards ceremony has taken off in a really big way, the hotel was positively buzzing with enthusiasm and equally how inspiring it was to see the genuine surprise and delight of bloggers when told I read their blogs regularly. “What, really? You mean you read it?” – just great to be there, to be part of it and to have had so much fun. I’ve started to blog. Well done on the work Damien, MP and everyone!

[...] Congratulations to all the winners last night and all the nominees. One of the best things about the awards is that it has showcased blogs that some of us would never have found, whether they won awards or not. I know I spoke to people last night whose blogs I’m going to check out over the next few days. The event is a credit to Damien Mulley who has worked so hard at it and his contribution to the blogging scene in Ireland should not be underestimated. We’re very lucky to have somebody who gives so freely of their time for the benefit of so many. [...]
Well done – thrilled for you!

Maman Poulet » Isn’t she lovely? // Mar 2, 2008 at 17:51
[...] She’s a she of course. And indeed varieties of her were won by a whole load of lovely talented women last night – Sinead, Sabrina, Beaut.ie, Gingerpixel, Lorraine @ Italian Foodies, Grannymar, A Simple Yarn, The Family Voyage. We’re only brilliant! And I look forward to the continued increase of and respect for the voices of women in Irish blogging, because as last night proved we’re rather good at this – and I’ll also hope to see and support continued chances to introduce other women to the formats and possibilities in documenting whatever stories we have to tell. Many thanks to Irish Broadband for sponsoring the category, to Hosting365 for sponsoring the Champagne from Bubble Brothers, and to Moviestar.ie for the DVD player! [...]

[...] A couple more are over on Flickr. I do want to say I had a great evening and I met most of the bloggers that I wanted to although there were a few that I missed (there always are, there’s just not enough time!). Everyone I spoke to…Rick, Twenty, Fiona, John, Steven, Annette, Dermod, Catriona, Sinéad, Ryan, Redmum, John, Elly, Colm, Owen, Grandad, Grannymar, Lili, Devin, Sam, Sabrina, Una, Aoife, Frank, Fústar…(OK, I’m in trouble now, I’m forgetting loads of people!) Congratulations to all the other winners, you can see the full list at this link. Do check them out because there are some real gems and quite a few of them are personal favourites of mine. Also (because I was so nervous I could barely remember my own name up there on the stage let alone those who I should have been thanking!) thanks to the sponsors of the Photo Blog category, http://www.pix.ie, without the contribution of the sponsors there’s no way we’d be able to have such a great night every year. All things considered there weren’t many surprises.
