Predicting Tomorrow’s News

October 28th, 2006 · 7 Comments · Blogging, Irish Media, Irish Politics, Social Media

I’ll be reviewing the Sunday Papers tonight (Saturday) on Newstalk’s Taste. I should be on about 8.45pm Irish Time and you can listen online – link to listen on Windows Media Player. One of my housemates asked me if I was doing any preparation for it – well Mystic Meg powers on predicting tomorrows news were not really part of my make up but if anyone has ideas post a comment!

We can bet that the Sunday Indo will have yet another picture of a beautiful Eastern European woman living in Ireland on the front page. Lisa whoever will still be saying that she does not care about Michael Flatley’s wedding and um stuff about Ryanair, AerLingus, planning in Laois, Bertie and his love of makeup, how crap the alternative government is, an opinion poll or 20 maybe and a bit of Heineken Cup coverage. Oh and I bet I have to explain what a blog is, or maybe for once the presenter will take it as given!!

Nice one, can I get ur autograph? On other ‘fascinating’ news… Don’t forget tell them who shot JR, how the earth isn’t flat and the moon isn’t made of cheese…

Oh and if you can fit in about “blogosphere” news this week, you could mention the New Jersey same-sex marriage case… it’ll rock them!
Good luck from the typing monkey.

[...] Suzy mentioned on her Newstalk stint the other evening that we don’t have any political advertising beyond the party political broadcasts. Probably a good thing but there are no rules for the Internet and what can and cannot be done. Simon’s idea could be the push onto the web that Irish politics needs. It’d be great to see MoveOn.org style ads created “by the people, for the people”. A url on the screen would get people to visit political websites with the American style ads. What would you have in a 30 second ad if you had no restrictions whatsoever? [...]

Hey! Need to try and listen to this – Microsoft have recently stopped supporting WMP on Mac, need to try a couple of things to get it playing…
