I’ll have a more substantial (and less hung over) post later but thank you for all the emails, twitters, facebook msgs and texts.
It was really great to win the Best News and Current Affairs category again this year. I am completely blown away however to win the Grand Prix as it’s being called (very apt we’re all going french with things!) To be selected as Best Blog in Ireland is truely humbling and brilliant at same time. I hear there are videos of speeches somewhere – which i’m sure someone will link to.
Congrats to all the winners – I can’t find a winners list to link yet and after 3 years of live blogging the winners and posting them last night I didn’t get a chance to and I’m not in any condition to do it now.
It was a wonderful night!
PS – Had all 4 of those golden circle names in the Sunday Times from 3 different readers – unfortunately I don’t have the lawyers fees of the ST to cover me! But it’s only the start of it

Suzy,
Your speech was well made. We do indeed need more news and current affairs bloggers – especially at this time of crisis. I sat there in the audience thinking about what said, saying to myself ‘where are the whistle-blowers?’ It’s never been easier to leak stories about what’s really happened because bloggers can carry the stories.
Also people are well enough educated to be able to put things in such a way as they are not vulnerable to prosecution for doing their civic duty.
It’s time someone from the so-called ‘financial regulator’ spilled the beans on the culture there. The light touch regulation they were directed to carry out. The true story of how come they knew in February and it came out in public in December…
I wished you were even more explicit last night but, as our best blogger, you’ll have more and more clout.
Now I must go buy the Sunday Times: some of my friends might be mentioned.
Grand Prix? Sounds like someone doing 40 on the Mothership! Surely, Le Poulet D’Or or L’oeuf dorE is more in keeping? So very well done! More details when the fog lifts please dear…
Suzy,
Rereading you, I realise that I’m curious as to whether you have all the names and don’t feel able to publish them. If so, send them over to me and I’ll publish them. I have nothing to lose. I can’t wait to get the names out so that we can forensically examine the sociology of this.
Well done – well deserved.
well done Suzy, your contributions are fantastic, it was great to meet you and yes, what a party!
Ciara
Many congratulations.
Congratulations, Suzy!
Congrats, Suzy. Well deserved.
Hugely deserved
Congrats Suzy
Rock on Maman! Delighted for you – well done!
yay Suzy! Absolutely thrilled you won!

Suzy,
Voice from the past here. Congratulations. Well done. Keep it up.
Aidan
Suzy many many congratulations. You are truely deserving of the prize. Can I also thank you for trying to put the hecklers in their place at the end. What took place from the front of the room was so abusive. I love heckles and craic at blog awards but there is a limit. Drink was the culprit I guess. Anyways onwards and upwards for all the winners and others involved in Irish blogging!
Brilliant, many congrats! Hopefully this will inspire you to be even bolder in future!
Mazel Tov!
The only consolation of you winning, is that bock the arsehole didn’t
But you won an award for writing and you can’t spell “Truly” properly
I think this is all anyone needs to know about the virtual reach-around that is the blog awards.
What about the two doubtfuls in the ST?
Congrats again, Suzy!
And thanks again for the interview… you can hear it now, here:

Delighted for you Suzy, and hope to be hearing more from you this year. A well earned gong, as smarter people than I have noted…
Congratulations again Suzy.
I’ve written you an Open Letter on my blog. I’d be grateful if you’d read it.

Well deserved, not least for putting the fear of god into some department heads. More than their Ministers seem able to do. Feels like the Awards have moved out of a slightly ‘stuck’ place (no harm to Twenty).
Any chance of a transcript of your victory speech?
The full list is here: http://url.ie/1831.
Congratulations! A well deserved win.
Well done and well deserved.
Well done Suzy, great to see the recognition happening.
Truley, well done
Well deserved.
All hail! Sorry I couldn’t be there to see you collect your prizes!
Hey Maman. Thrilled for you and well deserved. I hope it is another in a long line of awards to recognise your work.
