Rumours are circulating that there is a demonstration planned at Dublin Pride by Cóir or related organisations against the Dublin Pride Parade and/or protesting the Civil Partnership Bill 2009.
Stewards attending training for the Pride Parade were informed that there had been two sources of information regarding the planned protests and that there would be discussions with the Gardai on the matter and a possibility for further training should the demonstrations be confirmed. (A permit would have to be obtained by the demonstrators if they plan to go ahead.)
Dublin Pride are declining to comment on the matter. Increased campaigns and protests against the Civil Partnership Bill (and lgbt rights in general) have been noticeable in recent weeks.
Protests at previous Parade have been minor, one man stands along the route with a cross and another small group bless the route of the Parade following the marchers. I’m seeking comment from the Garda Press Office and Cóir and the Campaign for Conscience and will post responses that I receive.

The Parade organisers should adopt the following policy:

I think this will be a great opportunity to totally ignore them. Don’t take their bait. Let them protest, act as if they cant even be seen. Show them up for the out of touch irrelevances they are.
This is how my boyfriend and I react to the sole christian guy with the sign:
