Roman Catholic Bishops in the USA will debte a new document on Pastoral Guidelines for ‘Ministry to Persons with Homosexual Inclination’ when they meet next month. Much of it is the usual ‘love the sinner hate the sin’ type of stuff but there are new challenges for them to face including a policy affirming the baptism of adopted children of lesbians and gay men.
No such pastoral letter exists in Ireland. There have been discussions and hints about pastoral outreach to lesbians and gay men from the Dublin Diocese but I have not heard if anything came from these in the past few years. Anyone else heard anything?

Why just the adopted babies? what about babies “made” by donor insemination, or in the “usual” way by a gay man and a lesbian???
Cos we only want to rob other peoples kids Tipster and it serves their mission to promote this bullshit whilst appearing to be a teeny bit tolerant – they and not just the church, don’t get the fact that sperm and ovaries are not just the preserve of the straights.
There was really not much of an outreach to gay and Lesbian Catholics in the document. We are called to chastity and may not recieve communion unless we remain celibate. The major breakthrough was the ability to have our children Baptised and the US Bishops acknowledging that “reparative therapy” to make us “straight” was controversial at best.
